RentAShed.com began in 2006 as Byler Rentals, LLC, a sister company of Byler’s Storage Buildings, Inc (now Byler Barns & Backyards... www.BylerBarns.com). The goal was to provide a simple alternative payment plan for the storage buildings sold by Byler’s. Well, it worked. Not only did the business model go head to head with the local self-storage unit facilities, but it provided an attractive option for people who couldn’t or didn’t want to finance their purchase for some reason or another. The number of new rental sheds has grown tremendously over the last few years, and we expect that trend to continue into the future, as more people realize the folly of renting off-site storage space.
In the first part of 2011, Byler Rentals, LLC, purchased the domain name RentAShed.com, and changed the name of the company to RentAShed. We like our new name, as it is more catchy and descriptive of the type of service we actually provide. Our goal is to move more of the company processes to this website, and become the best and most trusted source for renting a shed in the state of Virginia. In the future, as a RentAShed client, you’ll be able make payments online, view your account statement, see a copy of your lease, ask questions, and much, much more. We plan to have the full site up and running by January of 2012.

Steve Byler is the owner/founder of Byler Rentals, LLC. He’s also the president of Byler Barns & Backyards, pastor, father of 7, and avid fisherman. He is the CEO of RentAShed.com, and one of our leading idea banks as we look toward the future.
Douglas Byler is Steve’s son, and the other original owner of Byler Rentals, LLC. Although he was a “tag-along” in the original business model, he is currently setting the pace for the future development of RentAShed.com. He is the Sales Manager at Byler Barns & Backyards, musician, and outdoorsman.
